WHO ARE WE?
WE ARE
OTIS.

Otis Redding (September 9, 1941 – December 10, 1967) was an American singer-songwriter regarded as the “King of Soul,” as well as one of the greatest singers in the history of American popular music and a seminal artist in soul music and rhythm and blues.

During his life, Otis Redding was dedicated to improving the quality of life for his community through the education and empowerment of its youth. Prior to his untimely passing in 1967, Otis Redding was awarding scholarships to young students continuing their education.

After his death, his widow Mrs. Zelma Redding continued his philanthropic efforts, and established the Otis Redding Foundation in his honor in 2007.

The foundation continued to blossom, and in the year 2025, a historic event took place with the grand opening of the Otis Redding Center for the Arts, a multi-million dollar facility created to educate, inspire and empower the youth of Macon, GA in music and related arts.

Today, an incredible team of music artists and professionals, who are deeply passionate about children and their local community, carry on the Otis Redding legacy by partnering with local schools, running summer music camps, and many other facets.

So, today, you ask, “who are we?”

We say, “we are Otis.”
